During the Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (AMCDRR), which was held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from 03 – 06 July 2018, the Red Cross Red Crescent presented various case studies of disaster risk reduction in action.

Two of them featured the Forecast-based Financing projects in Bangladesh and Mongolia.

The AMCDRR is the regional platform for dialogue and action on disaster risk reduction, under the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR). Since its inception in 2005, each of the Asian Ministerial Conferences has adopted a political declaration and developed action plans that reaffirmed commitment to strengthen disaster resilience and renew regional approaches to implement first the Hyogo Framework for Action and now the SFDRR.
