DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce that our 4th Africa Dialogue Platform on Anticipatory Humanitarian Action will be held from 29th June to 1st July 2021. The Africa Dialogue Platform 2021 will provide a platform for anticipatory action practitioners\, policy makers and scientists/academia to present and debate on how we can build and strengthen systems to support effective implementation of anticipatory action in Africa. \nThe ADP 2021 will be a virtual edition due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Despite being online\, the platform will be organised to be highly interactive. DESCRIPTION:The 5th Asia-Pacific Dialogue Platform is hosted by the Anticipation Hub and jointly organised by the German Red Cross (GRC)\, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC)\, the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre (RCCC)\, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)\, the World Food Programme (WFP) and the Start Network. This Dialogue Platform on Anticipatory Humanitarian Action is supported by the German Federal Foreign Office. \nThe theme of the 5th Asia-Pacific Dialogue Platform is “Anticipatory Action to Meet the Challenges of the Climate Change Crisis”. \nThe objectives of the event are to 1) share knowledge and evidence from AA implementations\, scale-ups and evaluations\, 2) learn from country examples on collaboration and scaling-up\, and 3) use lessons learned\, roadblocks\, and milestones for a joint way forward. \nThe event will cover topics around the role of anticipatory action in addressing climate change including: \nMulti-partner\, multi-sectoral\, and localised anticipatory action: for a joint understanding of current and future climate risks and identification of effective early actions to address the climate crisis\nExperience & Evidence: Share lessons learned from recent AA evaluations and ways to integrate a CCA perspective in AA implementations\nAnticipatory Action Financing: from community-level to national legislation and donor commitments\, including climate financing instruments & tools\nMarket Place \nYou can read further details in the concept note here. \nVisit event page here.

DESCRIPTION:DATE: \nTuesday\, December 7\, 2021 – Thursday\, December 9\, 2021 \nTHEME:\nMeeting the challenges of future crises: Protecting lives and livelihoods with anticipatory action \nThe 9th Global Dialogue Platform on Anticipatory Humanitarian Action will be hosted by the Anticipation Hub and co-organized by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the UN World Food Programme (WFP)\, with a live studio in Rome\, where the two organizations have their headquarters. The co-organizing role of FAO and WFP aims to send a strong message about the urgency of adopting an anticipatory approach to prevent food crises. \nThis Dialogue Platform on Anticipatory Humanitarian Action is supported by the German Federal Foreign Office. \nElaborating on last year’s focus on the expansion of the application of anticipatory action\, covering more types of shocks and addressing compounding risks\, this year’s focus is on \n(1) Meeting the challenges of the future\, following recommendations from the UN high-level event on AA\, the FSS and the COP26\, \n(2) Improving the AA approach through different technologies and methodologies; and \n(3) Discussing innovative modalities of engagement with different stakeholders and ways to address sustainability. \nAs always the Dialogue Platform lives through your participation and contributions.
